"Copyediting
is both an art and a science," states editor/proofreader/writer
Peggy Roeske. With more than 30 years experience, she is known
for precision and attention to detail.
Peggy
has a broad background in medical and educational publishing,
including work on magazines, journals, newsletters, advertising
pieces, textbooks, and scholarly books. She has the knack of
working effectively with writers and contributors.
As
associate editor of Pharmacy Times (a magazine for pharmacists),
Peggy gained insight into the pharmaceutical industry. In the
5 _ years she was there, the publication rose from #3 in readership
to be statistically tied for #1, based on surveys.
More
recently, Peggy has edited materials on a freelance basis for
two New Jersey advertising agencies that serve pharmaceutical
clients: Cline, Davis & Mann and Beacon Healthcare Communications.
She also has written executive summaries of advisory board meetings
for a pharmaceutical company.
In
addition, Peggy copyedits articles for the Journal of Studies
on Alcohol and Drugs, based at Rutgers University. She edits
books for a scholarly publisher and has provided in-house assistance
with all phases of book production from manuscript to bound
book.
Peggy
holds a bachelorŐs degree in psychology from Swarthmore College
and a masterŐs degree in education from the University of Bridgeport.
Her editorial career began as college relations officer at Mercy
College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. After moving to New Jersey, she
was a copy editor and indexer for the American Academic Encyclopedia
and wrote three articles for it. She later edited insurance
publications for the A.M. Best Company. During a stint at a
public relations firm, Coleman & Pellet, she copyedited materials
for the New Jersey Insurance News Service, the New Jersey Health
Products Council and corporate health care, manufacturing, and
utility clients.
Peggy
is able to bring quality in editing and detail work to companies
in the health care field or in a variety of other fields.
