Read-in-Bed Insomnia Book by NOWA Member
‘Boring Book’ Chapter a Real Sleeper
| What happens when one of the world’s lightest sleepers is married to one of the world’s loudest snorers? A new book called “Why Count Sheep When You Can SLEEP?,” which takes an innovative approach to the problem of insomnia. Written by veteran insomniac and journalist Tracy Ecclesine Ivie, this book is designed to be read in bed -- at the point of sleeplessness -- when people are alone in the dark, desperately searching for relief.
To help them…and herself, Ivie compiled hundreds of effective, “non-drug” sleep solutions from around the world, including “The Boring Book” chapter, a unique collection of run-on sentences and monotonous phrases to numb even the most hyperactive minds. (Many people find this section amusing, and say they go to sleep smiling.) |

Ivie also created numerous variations on “counting sheep” routines, breathing exercises, visualizations and self-hypnosis. The result is an extensive supply of real tips from real people that really work!
“Read it and sleep,” says Ivie, adding that after being awakened every night by the snorer from hell for 28 years (yes, they’re still married!), she went on a quest for natural solutions so she could avoid sleeping pills. She was shocked to discover that more than 40 million people in the United States alone can’t get a good night’s sleep.
The book is published by Rose Street Press, an independent publishing company founded by Ivie. She is co-author in the book series, “Country Inns of America” (Architectural Digest and Holt, Rinehart and Winston), and author of the e-book, “How to Get a Merchant Account and Take Credit Cards Online and Offline” (CTC Publishing).
“Why Count Sheep When You Can SLEEP?” is available at rosestreetpress.com, amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, the Clinton Book Shop and Nature’s Harvest in Flemington. |
